| In a slight anamorphic distortion, the bespectacled face of Michail Kol'cov looks out from a red surface. Kol'cov had been a friend of Vertov's since his youth later became his patron and in 1918 made it possible for Vertov to get into film through his contacts to the Moscow Film Committee. Reflected in Kol'cov's spectacles one sees not only the film title but also a photo-montage of factories and industrialisation. | ||
