| A letter written by Vertov to the dep. director of Sovkino, Il'ja Trajnin (with copies sent to Comrades Konrad Bljachin and Avdeev). In it, Vertov extensively justifies why he has not submitted the script of his film project "Čelovek s kinoapparatom" as had been requested. Vertov also denies that the production costs for "Šestaja čast' mira" would be too high - a rumour circulated by the film journalist Ippolit Sokolov. | ||

| Comments: | The background to this letter was an argument with Il'ja Trajnin, who had given Vertov a three-da ultimatum for submission of the script. On 31.12.1926 Vertov was given his notice by Sovkino, so that the present document was presumably written between 24 and 31 of December 1926. | |
